Colorado won the Championship game and knocked Oklahoma out of the National Championship that year. But they had 2 losses. That along with a Tennessee loss allowed Nebraska to backdoor in and then get destroyed by Miami. In my opinion, that year, Oregon & Colorado were better than Nebraska.
As for this year, it's a flippin' joke. A really down Big 10 gets 2 in and a strong Big 12 gets 2, but Kansas instead of Missouri? If UK had beat Missouri and lost to OU, would MU have gone instead? Hello! You nailed it. Say good bye to Championship games, if they are going to keep you out of BCS games. Well, I can't say that the championship games will go away, they're huge money games. Basically a bowl themselves.
There's no way in hell that a 9-3 Illinois team deserves to be in and a 10-2 Missouri team that really only lost to Oklahoma (twice) this year is out.
Props to Hawaii for battling back from 28-7 to get in to the BCS, but they don't stand a chance against Georgia. That defense will destroy Hawaii. I know Hawaii is undefeated and all that. Well good for them. It just goes to show that if you schedule one "BCS" team and then a bunch of patsies, you can get in. And as soon as Georgia destroys them everyone will be screaming that they didn't deserve to be in.
The system is a total mess now and it's not going to get better. Okay off my soap box.
