From what it sounded like during the Whit interview on 1320, Kyle had stated that most of the running attack was not part of the game plan. I think that was the first mistake.
Ludwig should have devised some schemes to work against the front 7 of TDS and make them adjust. Running the ball and being balanced is critical. That means making sure your game plan is such that you can do just that against any defense.
On Saturday, we tried to pass to set up the run and attack the edges, but we didn't have good schemes to do that. We didn't throw deep often enough to keep the DBs honest and allow for us to continue to attack the edges. And the triple option... That's just a stupid play, especially against a zone, where the Defense isn't moving around.
