Defense Should be Ready for TDS 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Listening to Gary Anderson last night on 1280 the zone, it appears the Ute Defense should be ready for the Team Down South.

He had reviewed 3-4 game films all ready and he was going to review the other 5 last night and this morning. He will then put together his schemes on how to stop TDS's passing and rushing attacks.

Anderson has put together good schemes the past couple years, but his defense has still allowed the TDS to move the ball and score points. I am hopeful that it can be different this year. Our defense has been solid the past 4 games and hope they can continue to dominate.

Come on D! Put the pressure on Max Hall!

I keep saying it. Hall struggles when he's tested. Put pressure on him and he'll turn into a head case. Our front 7 can stop the run. It's the quick slants that we need to lock up on. Protect the flats and put pressure on Hall and the Utes roll!

As you said...cover the flat routes and quick slants will be a big key. If we can defend those, then they will need to attempt some deeper routes and we need to apply the pressure when that happens.

TDS's line is pretty solid up front, so we will need to be creative with our blitz packages. We need to keep them confused on where we will actually be blitzing from. Come from the edges sometimes and stack the middle at times.

Another big key for us is not to allow the big backs to run on us. We had that problem with UNLV and Oregon State. Granted we are much more improved from then, but if the RBs have their day with us, we'll be in trouble.
